Meet Mrs. McElwee, our Assistant Principal
I am so excited to join the Pleasant Hill Community! This year I am beginning my fourteenth year in education. This will be my first year as an assistant principal, but I have had many rich experiences teaching kindergarten through third grade. I am coming from the Blue Springs School District where I taught second grade last year. I received my undergraduate degree from Central Methodist University in Early Childhood Education. Later, I obtained my Master's in Administration from William Woods University. Most recently, I completed my Specialist in Educational Leadership from Missouri State University. I am so excited about my new opportunity here in Pleasant Hill. I will split my time between the Elementary and Intermediate Schools this year. My husband, Tom and I live in Odessa with our four children. Emma is entering her senior year, Sadie will be a seventh grader, Fiona is a fifth grader, and Killian is a third grader this year.
As a leader, you can expect me to be...
- Dedicated to a student centered school community.
- A kind and compassionate partner in your child's education.
- A positive person driven to create strong relationships that foster love, honesty, and collaboration.
- Approachable and community centered.
I am so excited for this year to start and to meet your wonderful kids!
